Local Arrangements

  • Rooms: A block of 57 rooms are being held for four nights (the nights of May 25-28 inclusive) in the Professional Development Centre at the Banff Center. This is the Main registration building. The rate quoted for the conference will be available for 3 days before and after the meeting if you wish to come early or stay late (subject to availability). You can book your room by following the registration procedure.

    If you wish to stay at other accommodations in Banff, we recommend that you try:
    both of which are in the town of Banff.

  • Meeting Room: is the Max Bell Auditorium at the Banff Center.

  • Posters: will be set up in rooms adjacent to the Max Bell Auditorium which is also where the coffee breaks will occur.

  • Registration Table: will be set up in the foyer of the Max Bell Building. The registration table will be open starting May 25th (see Programme).

  • Available AV-equipment:
    • Overhead projector
    • Slide projector
    • A Windows XP laptop and a Mac OSX laptop with PowerPoint and internet access
    • Screen-projector connected to video player and laptop

  • Internet Access: will be available in the Max Bell Auditorium where there is wireless access and where there will also be a few wired ethernet connections and computers. Also, the hotel rooms at the Banff Centre have wireless internet access.

  • Day Care: There are no day care facilities at the Banff Centre, but Banff has a Day Care Center. The Banff Day Care does have a drop in rate but it is based on availability. Here is the telephone number for the day care: ( 403 ) 762-3339
